TOURNAMENT & ICE CREAM FUNDRAISER
This weekend (June 26 & 27th) the Everett Baseball Association will be co-hosting the South Simcoe Senior Rookie Mid Season Tournament with Mansfield. It’s going to be a great weekend of some fun baseball for our 7-9 Yr Olds! The concession stand and BBQ will be open.
Also, I’m happy to announce that the Everett Baseball Association and Twin Scoops Ice Cream Store, downtown Everett, have partnered for a fundraiser this weekend only – June 26 & 27. Elsie and I are extremely excited about this event!
A dollar from any item purchased from Twin Scoops Ice Cream Store (excluding small kiddie cones) will be donated to the Everett Baseball Association as part of our fundraising efforts to do a badly needed upgrade of our ball park.
Please pass on to your contact lists, friends and family who live or travel through Everett. Every dollar helps! Don’t forget to thank Elsie at Twin Scoops for helping us out.
THANK YOU
I wish to acknowledge and thank Adjala Tosorontio Township, Deckers Electric of Beeton, Alliston Rent Shop, Tom Power, Niel Burkholder, Bob & Robert Peddle and an anonymous contractor who donated their time, expertise, supplies and money to install electricity to our newly dedicated Bailey Park in Everett. Total value of this project was estimated over $5000. We now have power to Bailey Park which helps our practises and games at two park locations with two Pitching Machines. It will be well used I’m sure. I would also extend thanks to Doug Ingram for helping build new dugout roofs for Bailey Park and Nielsen Farms for helping to move bleachers. Once again, many thanks to our partners and volunteers who make good things happen in a small community and help keep the community volunteer spirit alive.
BAILEY PARK
This year, due to a higher enrollment, we’ve had to make use of bailey park as a regular baseball field. The location of the park is directly west of the main ballpark (Irwin Park). We would encourage parents to park at Irwin Park and walk along the trail leading to Bailey Park. As an alternative, parents can park along county road 5 and walk through a gated entrance across Irwin Park outfield. This way it would ease congestion along Fisher Drive and avoid double parking along the same street.

MANY THANKS!
Another baseball year has passed and we’ve undergone many changes. Most of all we have a new organization and a new logo. Many thanks to Kate Howes of Howes Design for our logo. If you ever need professional graphic work, I would recommend hiring Kate, right here in Everett.
As you know we’ve made a big push to fundraise for equipment and new uniforms. This cannot happen without dedicated groups, businesses and individuals who help serve our community, like: Forecast Mechanical, Everett Firefighters Association, Alliston Rotary Club, Everett Legion, Everett Parks & Improvement Committee (EPIC), Alliston Lions Club, The Cash Store (Angus), Swaffield Septic and Councillor Joy Webster. Please take some time to thank them and consider helping/volunteering your time to their services.
We finished the year very respectfully and came close with a number teams on top. But I can’t thank the coaches enough for their ongoing perseverance and dedication to all of our kids. As you may know these coaches have undergone extensive training to be certified and it showed! Next year we plan to continue training parents who wish to coach or become an umpire. Many thanks to Toni Schofield’s help with T-Ball. Unfortunately, she cannot continue coaching/teaching T-Ball for 2010, therefore, your help would be appreciated.
As with any new organization there comes a time where we need help to run certain things and keep the momentum going. Please consider offering your help to ease the burden of others. Contact information below. We hope to begin practises earlier this year – stay tuned.
Yes, I know, I’m a little slow with the pictures – my apologies – but it gave me a chance to catch up and send this package with one stamp. Many thanks for your patience.
Thank you and we’ll look forward to seeing your child play ball for Everett once again in 2010.
